The Way of Nature - Wellington, New Zealand

About Us — Mark Inglis

I was born in 1964 and have spent the majority of my life in New Zealand and particularly Wellington.

As a child I was always tired especially after meals and I always craved sweet things.

My Mother was worried about me as I always wanted to lie down and have a rest so she took me to the doctor who took my iron levels and said this was the likely cause. The test showed that my iron levels were ok but he suggested I take iron tablets which I did but I did not notice any obvious effect.

My mother then gave me multivitamins which I took for three months but I did not notice any change. My Doctor helped me the best he could but I was still very tired.

I just had to accept that this was normal but I knew inside me that it was not.

In my 20s I started Tae kwon do and began to become interested in the Asian training methods of Qi and how it improves power and performance.

Through concentrating Qi by focusing on the attacking tool e.g the hand or foot and using the correct technique, the resulting power was magnified and the power was greatly enhanced. A good martial arts practitioner will use timing, focus in addition to speed not brute strength.

This realization of the theory of "Qi" being put into practice and the confirmed results made me more interested in the Asian cultures especially China.

Like a lot of martial art practitioners I watched Chinese martial arts movies and documentaries and was amazed at some of the special abilities of some of the Chinese martial artist.

I subsequently achieved my black belt and continued Tae Kwon Do for 12 years.

The hard training and physical nature of the art did have its cost and my body and especially my neck, in which I had injured in rugby, was paying the price.

I came to Alice Jian Ping Morris in 1999 for Qigong acupressure treatment and was amazed at the quick results. Through clearing the acupoint channels my pain went away quickly and my energy levels were greatly enhanced.

After diagnosing me and explaining to me what was wrong with me, treating me with herbs and acupressure I felt a completely new person and yet it was so simple. Alice then recommended I learn Qigong.

In 1999 I learned Qigong exercises and philosophy and through the practice my neck problem in which I had had for over 12 years was completely healed. Through learning the Qigong and ancient Chinese philosophy I am totally convinced that this is the right path for understanding healing and I wanted to learn it as this is what I had been searching for all my life.

In 2000 I learned the foundation of Chinese medicine and Qigong acupressure treatment and have been practicing Qigong and acupressure since.

I had set up my own business in the building material area in 1993 and in 1998 I started to import from China.

This link with China opened more doors to understanding the Chinese culture.

For me it is most important to understand the Chinese culture as it was very important understanding how a different culture thinks and acts so you can understand why they do things that you would do quite differently. I have been to China quite frequently and have experienced doing business with many different sized factories and have understood why (or why not) they wish to do business with you, their expectations, their method of handling disputes, why the quality is not as good as you expect, who to deal with and who not to deal with and can you have a long term relationship with this company.

As eating is a major part of the Chinese culture especially doing business I needed to understand what is happening at the table, who are the decision makers, to not offend them when dining with them and what amount of business you can discuss at the eating table.

I have experienced weddings and funerals and how the families respond to each situation, what is appropriate and what is inappropriate and how a different culture celebrates or mourns.

I have mainly lived with Chinese families so I could understand the family relationships and all the appropriate ways of handling each member of the family.

From this I understand why some parts of China the people are more healthy than other parts and why in the western culture we have so much diabetes, obesity and a poor understanding of what health properties food has, and what other areas affect our health.

I wanted to learn as much as possible about the "Ancient Chinese Philosophy" so on subsequent trips to China in 2004 and 2005 I have studied Qigong in Guangzhou and Hanzhou .

In 2005 I went to Taiyuan to further learn the "Ba Gua" and "Fung Shui" philosophy.

Early in 2007 I spent 2 months in Beijing learning food and mild herb healing and diagnosis with professor Liu a leading authority on food healing and ancient Chinese culture.

Professor Liu personally treats over 40,000 people every year and he follows the ancient Chinese medicine principles (see Chinese astrology) to treat his patients using special food herbs picked in accordance with nature using the most fresh and best quality food and herbs. The mixture of the ingredients are very important , the same principal as making a cake , if wrong ingredient or wrong amount and baked for a certain time the result will be either something good or totally opposite. The formulas have all been created together with the "Ba Gua" to greatly enhance the result.

I was honored to be the first and only foreigner to be trained by Professor Liu who has over 270 branches in China and our Clinic is also the first approved outside China

Through this learning I have seen that the traditional Chinese culture theory of following the "Law of Nature", to be the path to finding the true way of healing and understanding ourselves and as a ACM Practitioner it is very exciting to see how beneficial this way of health treatment will be for our Western people.

I believe the traditional Chinese culture practices will make a huge contribution to humanity in the years to come.
