1. Kidney Yang deficiency

2 main types:

  • Genetic weak, cold feet and hands
  • Body worn down over time especially male over 40, female over 35 face pale and white, dripping nose, right side of body more blocked

Symptoms:
Different for different ages:

  • Young age:
    Get pimples, tired, hard to concentrate, stunted growth.
  • Middle to older age:
    Female after 35 hands and feet cold, uterus cysts, breast cancer.
    After 40 hard to control urine and bowel, early menopause.
    Men after 40 sex functions fading, after 60 easy to get prostate problem.

Common symptoms:
Swollen legs, thighs, calves arthritis, hair loss, sore back, growth on bone, calcification, frequently going to toilet, tinnitus, hearing loss, worry and fear feeling, light sleeping, early morning diarrhoea

The No. 1 Formula produces the hot condition to support the kidney yang (right kidney).

Characteristics:
Hot and Tonic.

Chinese yams, knife beans, fox nut, cinnamon, fennel

2. Lung yin (Blood) deficiency

Lung Funtions:

  • Lungs' main function is the immune system to defend outside pathogens attacking within the body.
  • Govern the Qi.

If you have Lung yin deficiency, it will express to the nose and skin
- e.g. pimples, eczema, asthma, running nose, sinus, allergy, easy to catch common cold.

Symptoms:
Young people get pimples, other symptoms of dry cough, sweating after 3.00am in morning, constipation, sore upper back and shoulder (lung and large intestine pair zhangfu).

Lung yin deficiency relates to a hot lung. The body is in a hot climate state and then requires No. 2 Formula to cool down to gain the balance.

Characteristics:
Cold and relaxing.

Ingredients:
Lily pad, Chamomile, Mulberry leaves, Plums, Reed Grass (Phragmites).

3. Heart yin (Blood) deficiency

In ACM, the heart links to the brain. The heart lacking of moisture will make this system irregular.

Symptoms:
Tongue looks red, dry and thin, heart chest uncomfortable, insomnia, fear feeling, congested chest, thirsty, irritable, heart palpitation, find things hard to deal with, anxiety.

Use No. 3 Formula food-herbs to balance the hot heart, then uncomfortable symptoms will fade.

Characteristics:
Cold.

Ingredients:
Virginia Truffles, Lotus seed, Longan fruit, Sour date seed (zizyphus seed), Safflower.

4. Liver yang hot (liver Qi inflamed)

The liver has the functions to store the blood, govern the muscles, and direct all the internal organs. Liver characteristics are expanding, moving and directing.

When the liver is working properly, people will have full energy. If the liver is too hot then illness will form causing a series of problems including high cholesterol, high blood pressure, stroke, heart problem.

Symptoms:
Varicose veins, red eyes, side pain, migraine headaches, insomnia, bloated stomach, short temper, over-reaction, more serious liver and gall bladder growth potential.

No. 4 Formula will cool the liver down and ease the hot and inflamed liver.

Characteristics:
Cold.

Ingredients:
Grapefruit (finger citron), Peach seed (Persica), Citrus medica, Cassia Seed, Gardenia.

5. Liver yin (blood) deficiency

If the liver is too hot, the stomach will have problems absorbing the nutrition and the bone will weaken and become less dense (lacking calcium).

The blood does not nourish the muscle and tendons can get weak and sore knees. As blood is not transferred properly, it creates joint pain.

Liver yin deficiency cannot store the blood properly, causing non-stop period, nose bleeding, blood going to wrong places. Later, it causes anaemic and heart problem, liver and gall bladder problems.

Symptoms:
Dizziness, constipation without difficult feeling (extreme cases 15 days without bowel movement), thirsty, muscle stiffness, sore or weak knees.

No. 5 Formula will nourish the liver and regain its normal function.

Characteristics:
Neutral and tonic.

Ingredients:
Wolfberry, Mulberry, Sour date seeds (zizyphus seeds).

6. Kidney Yin deficiency

In children, sleeping irritable at night and bed-clothes thrown off, short temper, catch colds easy, asthma, thirsty and like cold drinks, whole body feels hot.

Symptoms:
Red cheeks, face red and hot, sweating at night, thirsty, usually gets worse in the afternoon, teeth loosening and ulcers, dislike of sour tastes, easy to feel hot and cold, lower back ache, palms and soles of feet hot and sweaty, high blood sugar, high urine sugar.

No. 6 Formula cools down the body.

Characteristics:
Cold and descending.

Wolfberry, Fox nuts, Mulberry, Ginkgo seeds.

7. Stomach Heat

Excess heat is due to the Qi and blood blocked and accumulating heat.

Deficiency heat is due to yin deficiency (lacking blood) leading to internal cells lacking moisture-causing heat (like a car engine).

Symptoms:
Sore throat, reflux, smelly breath, often hungry, overweight, dry lips, thirsty, constipated.

No. 7 Formula creates moisture to nourish and sooth the heat; unblock the blockages, leading the body to cool down

Characteristics:
Cold and sinking down.

Ingredients:
Hawthorn, Hemp, Torreya grandis, Gardenia, Radish seed.

8. Spleen Yang deficiencies

The spleen controls digestion, absorption, secreting systems.

The stomach, large and small intestine work under the control of the spleen.

Symptoms:
Diarrhoea, soft bowel movement, faeces difficult to come out, tiredness, stiff muscles (especially the 4 limbs) , bloated or full stomach, low appetite, vomiting, depression, nose bleeds, varicose veins, continuous periods, overweight.

No. 8 Formula focuses on the stomach and spleen to create the hot condition.

Characteristics:
Hot and rising.

Flat white beans, Red ginger, Barley, Cinnamon.

9. Whole body Qi (energy) deficiency

No. 9 Formula focuses on helping whole body Qi, particularly in the lower body - Liver, Kidney, Bladder, Gall Bladder, and Intestines.

If you take 2 or 3 No. 9 Formula plus 1 piece of chocolate, you will feel your Qi a lot stronger in whole body in a short time.

No. 9 Formula helps the cold and damp organs to build a warm climate to balance the body.

Symptoms:
Tiredness, low energy in general, depression, overweight on diet and overweight caused by low metabolism, constipated, body worn out, over-work and long work, insomnia.

10. Headache

Qian means head and brain.

Qian Qing means head clear.

No. 10 Qian Qing Formula focuses on the cold and cloudy head.

Characteristics:
Warm and rising.

Bamboo leaves (Lopahatherum), Balloon flower root (Platycodon Grandiflorum), Grapefruit (Finger citron), Fennel, Gardenia, Clove, peppermint.

11. Xiao Shi

Xiao mean to digest and delete. Shi means food. Xiao Shi formulas focus on the uncomfortable stomach and the stomach being too full due to over-eating.

Symptoms:
Stomach ache uncomfortable stomach, constipation.

Characteristic:
Neutral and delete.

Ingredients:
Hawthorn, Wheat sprout, Chicken Gizzard skin, Orange Peel, Radish Seed.
